WE ARE GOING TO DESTROY EVERYTHING WE HAVE

CIA_20251113_226398.jpg

is a site -specific performance researching into power, grief, repetition, and renewal. The body and its presence become a site of rage. A passage from mere existence to the profound depths of hope.
Inspired by Byung-Chul Han, this work refuses the emptiness and fatalism of a narcissistic society. Instead, it pursues a kind of hope that fully acknowledges negativity and suffering, a hope that must be actively unearthed, wrested from despair, and claimed as a task and a call for survival.
Concept, Choreography, Direction: Gema Galiana.

Performed at Mark S. Taper Courtyard - CalArts Nov 13-14 2025.
This work has been created in collaboration with the performers, with their own creativity and presence serving as an essential source of movement and inspiration.
